22nd Sunday after Pentecost
21st October 2018
I am happy to be back after the beautiful Institute pilgrimage for vocations last week in Lisieux. We especially invoked the Little Flower to grant Ireland holy vocations!
You will hear this Sunday the melody of Gloria XII, which can be found in the Mass Booklet on page 78. We will be singing it every Sunday until Advent, so that you can already begin to learn it by joining your voices to those of our choir.
Next Sunday will be the Feast of Christ the King. A plenary indulgence may be gained under the usual conditions (to have the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin; sacramental confession and communion, prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father). Please remember that a second collection will be taken at the end of Mass to benefit the Institute seminary in Italy. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Have you seen the updated picture of our seminarians at the back of the church? Our community now has a total of 91 seminarians. Please keep Darrell Lally in your prayers: originally from Co. Offaly, he will be starting this week his year of discernment at our apostolate in Preston.
Abbé David Le’s mother and sister paid him a surprise visit this week! They were happy to see where he is spending his pastoral year and to meet some of you. This is another aspect of the family life we are happy to share with you!
Wishing you a blessed week!
